aromatic, short and elegantly thin grained. The word‘Ghansal’ originated from ‘Ghan’ means

‘Aroma’ or ‘Flavour’ and ‘Sal’ means ‘Elegantly Skinned’. It is Medicinal as well. It is great rice

as First Food for Baby as is considered Saatvic or Pure and is nourishing

for the body tissues and is easy to digest.  


Ajara Ghansal has a GI Tag & is grown in a Small Village named as Ajarawhich is surrounded by Mountains on all side, The Rich black soil which receives manure every year through Monsoon waters is what is responsible for the Aroma of the Rice apart from chemical compound 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline

  • Soak rice in water for 15 to 20 mins. 
  • Drain water.  This will do away with the extra starch (You can Use Drained Water as Shampoo For Hair or use as Face mask)
  • Take a deep thick bottomed pan. 
  • Heat 1 tsp oil. Add rice and saute for 1 minute. 
  • Add 2.25 cups hot water. 
  • Turn heat to low and cover the pan for 15 - 20 minutes. 
  • Do not wash the rice too much
