IT STARTS WITH SOIL...

Our soil is worth its weight in gold. We wish to leave it in a better shape than when we received it. As stewards of the land, it's our responsibility to prioritize soil conservation and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

WE MULCH OUR SOIL

We keep our soil covered, for life to nurture. Farm waste is never burnt. All farm waste is recycled as Mulch.

Mulching preserves soil health, promotes dense microbiology, provides Thermal Insulation and enhances water retaining capacity.

BORDER TREES PROTECT OUR FARM & SOIL

On our farm, we have strategically planted 10,000 Australian pine trees along the border to serve as effective wind barriers.

Not only do these trees protect our crops from the strong winds that blow across the fields, but they also play an important role in creating and maintaining an insulated micro-environment.

RESTORING LOCAL ECOLOGIES

FOOD FOREST

What picture does the word ‘Forest’ bring to mind? Dense, lush shades of green? Wild herbs, shrubs, plants and trees of all shapes and sizes - all growing together?

At TBOF, we are developing a food forest - a glorious dream of ours! An embodiment of life supporting life. All forms of life will flourish and form symbiotic communities of harmony. Food that grows in an environment like this mothered by nature can heal and nourish all of mankind.

DESI COW X SOIL = LIVING & THRIVING SOIL

Gobar (Cow Dung) and Gomutra (Cow Urine) are used as the only inputs into the soil. Native Cow Dung is shown to be perfectly PH balanced - it is not acidic or alkaline and serves as a self sustaining, nourishing environment for the good bacteria to survive. Our Cow shed is connected to a built up drainage system which is further connected to the Biogas setup and Slurry pit. Manure is collected from this slurry Pit after 7 days and used as fertilizer on the farm.
