Besan (Gram flour), is the flour of brown chickpeas or chana dal , or sometimes a mix of split chickpeas and split peas, these peas or chana used to make gram flour are usually raw. Sattu is made of Desi Bengal gram flour/ Chana dal and they are sand roasted before being stone ground.
