Indian sweet dish kheer can be prepared using this cereal. 


It was grown Originally in the Belts Of Surat, Baroda, Nandurbar, Palghar

  • Soak rice in water for 3 to 4 Hrs. 
  • Drain water.  This will do away with the extra starch (You can Use Drained Water as Shampoo For Hair or use as Face mask)
  • Take a deep thick bottomed pan. 
  • Heat 1 tsp oil. Add rice and saute for 1 minute. 
  • Add 2.25 cups hot water. 
  • Turn heat to low and cover the pan for 15 - 20 minutes. 
  • Do not wash the rice too much
