Prepared in Iron Kadhais (Wok) on firewood. Plant based coagulant (Ladies Finger/ Okra Pulp) used to treat the sugarcane juice.
Know Your Farmer
This Spiced Jaggery is handmade by a small holding farmer, Shri Dattatray Ananda Kadam, with the help of his son, Pravin Dattatray Kadam, in village Salve located in the Patan taluka of Satara district, Maharashtra.
Farmer Dattatray and his son Pravin have been practising Natural Farming & Desi Gau Palan (with the help of Native breed cows) since the year 2017. With the help of their 10-12 Desi Khillar cows they follow the Zero budget farming model. Cow manure, Vermicompost and Vermiwash alone are used on their farm, with zero external inputs.
Sugarcane is their main Cash crop and it is grown along with other crops like wheat, chana, rice and jowar.
This jaggery is made using the traditional method - only okra plant is used for clarification. Spices like Soonth (dried ginger ) and green cardamom are added to the jaggery to give it a lovely taste.
Store in an airtight container away from heat or moisture
Best before 12 months from manufacture.
Store in a cool, dry place.
